The Holiday Season at the museum Ett Hem 2025

In December, the museum Ett Hem is transformed with festive decorations, inviting visitors to step into Alfred and Hélène Jacobsson’s Christmas celebrations at the turn of the 20th century. This atmospheric museum, originally Jacobsson’s private home, is furnished with their art, furniture and textiles. The walls are adorned with works by artists such as Albert Edelfelt, Elin Danielson-Gambogi and Hélène Schjerfbeck. The museum is administered by the Åbo Akademi University Foundation.

During the Christmas opening, from 29 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, visitors can experience Christmas music, period-specific decorations, and traditions cherished by the Jacobsson family. Household records, letters, and family stories recreate their Christmas and New Year celebrations – from the delicacies of the Christmas table to the exchange of gifts

The museum offers a digital guidebook in 28 languages, updated with information about the family’s Christmas traditions. Guided tours are available daily in Finnish at 11:15 and 14:15, and in Swedish on Saturdays at 13:15. All guided tours are included in the ticket price.

The museum shop offers a range of gifts inspired by the collection.

The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.
